On Saturday night, No. 19 LSU and No. 4 Tennessee will meet for the second game of the teams’ SEC series at Lindsey Nelson Stadium in Knoxville. The Tigers come into Saturday’s game with an overall record of 22-13, but the teams has struggled against SEC opponents and hold a 3-10 record in conference play for a spot in fifth place in the SEC West standings. On Friday night, the team suffered a 6-3 loss in the series opener which was credited to Gage Jump on the mound after four innings of pitching in which he gave up five earned runs and struck out five batters. Tommy White led the offensive play for the Tigers, going 3-for-5 with two RBI in the loss.

The Vols are currently in second place in the SEC East standings with an overall record of 28-6 and a conference record of 8-5. With last night’s win, the team has now won four straight games and will look to improve upon that today. Billy Amick and Dylan Dreiling each hit home runs to propel the offense as they each finished the game with two RBI. The other two runs came through on throwing errors from the Tigers’ defense. AJ Causey pitched 4.2 innings and struck out seven batters to earn his sixth win of the year while Kirby Connell earned the save with three strikeouts in 1.2 innings of work.
