Top-ranked UCLA already clinched the Big Ten regular-season championship and opens a 3-game series against No. 13 Oregon on Friday night

The UCLA Bruins (44-4) held the No. 1 ranking entering the 2026 season and have maintained it with a stranglehold all season, taking a five-game winning streak and a perfect 24-0 Big Ten Conference record into their series with the 13th-ranked Oregon Ducks (35-12), which opens Friday night at Jackie Robinson Stadium in Los Angeles. The Bruins clinched the Big Ten regular-season title last weekend while Oregon comes in tied with Nebraska for second in the conference at 17-7 with two series remaining on the schedule.

The Ducks took two of three at Washington last weekend before canceling a scheduled two-game series with Grand Canyon set for Tuesday and Wednesday. Drew Smith powers the Oregon offense with 14 home runs and 49 RBI while Angel Laya has 13 long balls and 40 runs batted in. Ryan Cooney slashes .358/.442/.579 with 13 steals in 15 attempts, scoring a team-high 42 runs.

Right-hander Wylan Moss (4-0) gets the Friday start for the Bruins, coming in with a 1.99 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in 45.1 innings with 56 strikeouts. Oregon gives the ball to right-hander Will Sanford (6-1), who enters with a 3.64 ERA and 1.21 WHIP to go with 84 strikeouts over 59.1 innings.
