    The No. 3 ranked team in the nation, Texas A&M, will close out this weekend’s three-game series against Ole Miss with the third and final game on Sunday night at Swayze Field in Oxford, Mississippi. The Aggies came into this series on Friday with a 41-8 record overall and a 16-8 record against conference teams in the SEC. They are undefeated in non-conference affairs. Surprisingly, they lost two of three games last weekend against LSU losing the first two games 6-4 and winning the last game a week ago 14-4. Earlier this week, they added to the win column again with a 16-3 dominant defeat over Rice at home. Jace Laviolette and Braden Montgomery have been the best at the plate this season for Texas A&M. The center fielder is batting .326 with a .461 on-base percentage. He has a team-high 26 home runs and 67 RBIs with 72 runs in 190 at-bats. His outfield teammate, Montgomery, is batting . 342 with a .483 on-base percentage. He has 24 home runs and a team-high 76 RBIs with 57 runs in 187 at-bats.

    The Rebels are 25-23 overall this season heading into this series on Friday. They were also 9-15 against conference teams in the SEC at that point as well. Last weekend, they won two of three games against Auburn, another SEC team. They lost the last game of that series 10-9 and lost earlier this week against Murray State at home 12-9.

    Andrew Fischer and Ethan Lege have been dominant at the plate for Ole Miss. Fischer is batting .303 with a .413 on-base percentage. He has a team-high 19 home runs and 53 RBIs with 45 runs on 54 hits in 178 at-bats. His teammate, Lege, is batting .323 with a .424 on-base percentage. He has 13 home runs and 38 RBIs with 40 runs on 50 hits in 155 at-bats.
