On Sunday afternoon, Oregon will host Utah at PK Park for the teams’ Pac-12 series finale as the regular season begins to wind down. The Utes come into Sunday’s game with an overall record of 29-15 and a conference record of 14-9 which puts the team in third place in the conference standings. The team will look to avoid a sweep on Sunday after losing the first game to the Ducks 7-5 and the second game 5-1 on Saturday. Yesterday’s loss was credited to Merit Jones to move to 3-3 on the season as he pitched 5.1 innings and gave up four earned runs while striking out six batters. The team’s lone run was brought in by Kail Roberts in the sixth innings with a double to right center to score Core Jackson.

With a win in game two, the Ducks improved to 32-14 overall and 14-9 against conference opponents for a spot in second place in the Pac-12 standings. The team has now won four straight games and will look to pick up its fifth on Sunday and complete the sweep. On Saturday, Oregon was led offensively by Jeffery Heard who finished the game going 1-for-2 with two RBI from a double to right field in the fifth. Grayson Grinsell earned the win on the mound, pitching six innings in which he gave up seven hits and one earned run, but struck out an impressive eight batters before Brock Moore came in to earn the save.
