In their undefeated start to the season the Golden Bears have wins against Michigan State in overtime (2-1), Northeastern (3-2), Kent State (3-1) and UC Davis (2-0) showing flashes of a team that could be in the top 20 rankings in the near future.
For the Cavaliers, they have really played well on both ends of the field, especially on the defensive end. This season they have only allowed one team to score multiple times and have two shutouts. Through five matches they have allowed four total goals while scoring 14 on the offensive end. Most of those goals came in a 7-0 win over Temple in the second match of the season.
In their three wins over ranked opponents the Cavaliers have a 5-2 scoring edge. Thos wins came against 16th ranked Penn State (2-1), 11th ranked Liberty (2-1) and fifth ranked Maryland (1-0). Another win today will keep pace with the top two teams in the country and give the Cavaliers the resume to move up to second or third.
