Michigan puts its five-match winning streak on the line on Monday afternoon against Michigan State
The Michigan Wolverines visit the Michigan State Spartans on Monday afternoon in college field hockey action. The Wolverines come into Monday on a five-match winning streak and fresh off a huge 11-0 whipping over Central Michigan last Sunday. The Wolverines lost their season-opener against No. 2 North Carolina, but have been perfect since. They have given up just three goals since in wins against No. 18 Wake Forest, Boston U, Providence, Ohio and the Chippewas. Kate McLaughlin has been great for the Wolverines as she leads the team with nine goals and is tied for second on the team with four assists. Abby Tamer has also been good as she has scored seven times and assisted on six others. They will look to continue their good play when they take on the rival Spartans on Monday.

The Spartans, though, will look to slow them down as they try and bounce back from a 4-0 loss to Ohio State on Friday.
The loss to the Buckeyes snapped a two-match winning streak and dropped them to 4-3 overall and 0-1 in the Big Ten.
Bianca Pizano has been the top scorer for the Spartans this season as she has scored five goals. Pizano leads the team, but the scoring has been spread as eight different players have at least one goal this season.
They will need to be good on Monday afternoon if they want to pick up the upset of the streaking Wolverines.
