Friday’s game will be a challenging one for the Wolverines as the Wildcats are still undefeated this season. A win would not only move them into a tie for first place in the Big Ten standings, but would also catapult the Wolverines higher in the national rankings.

The Wildcats have been a force to be reckoned with this season and bring a perfect 15-0 record into Friday’s contest with a Big Ten record of 5-0. The team’s most recent game was played at home against UC Davis on Sunday and Northwestern won handily in an 11-1 victory. Eight different Wildcats found the back of the cage in the win, with Ashley Sessa and Lane Herbert each netting two goals apiece in the win. Annabel Skubisz played the first 30 minutes in goal for Northwestern, but was not challenged at all. Faye Post came in for the second half and conceded one goal.

When Michigan and Northwestern met last season during conference play, the game was tightly contested and ended in a narrow 1-0 victory for Northwestern.
