On Sunday afternoon, No. 8 Boston College will welcome Stanford to Massachusetts for an ACC matchup. The Cardinal have struggled this season and are currently 5-6 overall with a winless 0-5 record in conference play. The team is on a five-game losing streak with the most recent being a 3-0 loss to No. 14 Syracuse on Friday night. Daisy Ford played the full game in the cage for Stanford and saw 13 shots on frame. She came up with 10 big saves for the Cardinal, but the three that made it past her resulted in another loss. The Stanford offense produced eight shots with three on frame but were unable to make it past the duo of Louise Pert and Vera Hekkenberg who shared time in goal for Syracuse. Stanford is still in search of that elusive first conference win since joining the ACC this year and will look to earn it with an upset on Sunday.

The Eagles are at the opposite end of the spectrum in terms of performance this season and bring an overall record of 9-3 into Sunday’s game, as well as an unbeaten record of 4-0 in ACC play. On Friday night, the team hosted newcomer Cal and earned a 4-0 victory. Madelieve Drion led the offensive play for the Eagles, finishing the game with two goals. Elisa Brauel-Jahnke scored her first goal of the season in the second quarter and Peyton Hale scored her fifth, converting a penalty stroke in the fourth quarter. Charlotte Kramer got the start in net for Boston, making four saves before Hayley Hayden took over for the final 15 minutes of play, making one save for the Eagles.

Sunday’s game will be the first between these two programs since Stanford joined the ACC.
