After moving into the top spot in the latest NCAA polls with only one loss on the season, No. 1 Cornell heads to Providence to take on Brown at Stevenson-Pincine Field on Saturday. Cornell has opened Ivy League play with three consecutive wins to improve to 8-1 overall with a 3-0 conference record and a 4-0 record on the road this season. The Big Red have won four consecutive games, including wins over No. 4 Princeton, Yale and Penn in recent conference matchups. Brown, on the other hand, has started its Ivy League slate 0-2 with a recent loss to Yale. The Bears are 3-6 overall with an 0-2 conference record and a 1-2 home record. Cornell has won two-straight games over Brown, including a 14-8 victory last April.

Most recently, Cornell extended its winning streak to four games with a 18-11 victory over UAlbany in Ithaca last week. CJ Kirst and Michael Long led the way for the Big Red, with Kirst finishing with six goals to bring his career total to 210, top-five all-time. Long had five assists in a six-point performance in the win for Cornell. 

As for Brown, the Bears fell on the road to Ivy League rival Yale by a final score of 15-12 in New Haven last Saturday. Jeremy Hopsicker registered his third consecutive hat trick while Aidan McLane had a four-point day with two goals and two assists in the loss.
