Following its first loss of the season to second-ranked Princeton, fifth-ranked North Carolina bounced back with a win over Hofstra in Chapel Hill last week. The Tar Heels are now 5-1 overall with a 4-1 record at home this season. Jacksonville, an unranked opponent on the rise, is riding a five-game winning streak heading into Saturday’s meeting. The Dolphins are 5-2 overall with a 2-1 road record this season. This is only the third-ever meeting between these two schools, with North Carolina winning both previous matchups, including an 18-7 win in 2021.Â

Most recently, North Carolina cruised to an 18-7 victory over Hofstra at Dorrance Field in Chapel Hill last week. The Tar Heels led wire-to-wire, opening a 10-1 advantage in the first quarter. Dewey Egan finished the game with a hat trick while Brevin Wilson, James Matan, and Owen Duffy added two goals each.
As for Jacksonville, the Dolphins extended their winning streak to five games with an 11-9 victory over High Point in Savannah last week. Daylin John-Hill and Nicky Brown scored four goals apiece, with Brown finishing the game with seven points, adding three assists as well. Jackson Intreieri also had a four-point game with a goal and three assists.
