No. 4 seed Ohio State hosts Notre Dame in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday.

After earning the fourth-seed in the NCAA Tournament by winning the Big Ten Tournament, No. 4 Ohio State hosts unseeded Notre Dame in the first round on Sunday afternoon. The Buckeyes won the Big Ten Tournament title by beating Rutgers and Maryland en route to the conference crown. Ohio State also won the Big Ten regular-season title with a 14-2 overall record and a 4-1 mark in conference play. Overall, the Buckeyes have won three-straight games heading into the NCAA Tournament. Notre Dame, on the other hand, fell to Syracuse in the ACC Championship semifinals last weekend. The Irish enter the big tournament with an 8-4 overall record and a 3-1 mark on the road. Earlier this season, Ohio State took down Notre Dame by a final score of 10-9 in South Bend.

Most recently, Ohio State finished off its sweep of the Big Ten with a 14-10 victory over No. 3 Maryland at Michigan Lacrosse Stadium last weekend. Garrett Haas and Griffin Turner led the way with four points each, with Haas netting a hat trick and an assist. Turner finished with two goals and two assists, while Alex Marinier also added two goals in the win. 

As for Notre Dame, the Irish couldn’t keep-pace with Syracuse in a 14-12 loss to the Orange in the ACC Championship semifinals last week in Charlotte. Chris Kavanagh, Devon McLane, and WIll Angrick each scored two goals in the loss. The Irish spotted the Orange an early three-goal lead and never recovered.
