No. 2 seed Maryland faces off against No. 6 seed Syracuse in the NCAA Final Four on Saturday.

With the NCAA Final Four taking place at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough this weekend, No. 2 seed Maryland faces off against No. 6 seed Syracuse in the semifinals on Saturday afternoon. After falling in the Big Ten Tournament to top-seeded Ohio State, the Terps have rallied in the NCAA Tournament with wins over Air Force and Georgetown to advance to championship weekend. Maryland is 13-3 overall with a 3-2 conference record and a 3-1 neutral site pace. Syracuse, on the other hand, is red-hot after winning the ACC Championship and advancing to the NCAA Final Four with wins over Harvard and Princeton. The Orange are 13-5 overall while riding a four-game winning streak into this weekend’s semifinals. Earlier this season, Maryland took down Syracuse by a final score of 11-7 back in February.

Most recently, Maryland advanced to championship weekend with a 9-6 victory over Georgetown in the quarterfinals last weekend in Annapolis. The Terps have the most Final Four appearances in NCAA history with 30, breaking a tie with Johns Hopkins. Braden Erksa led the way with a four-point performance on a hat trick and an assist, while Daniel Kelly scored a pair of goals. 

As for Syracuse, the Orange won a thriller over Princeton by the final score of 19-18 to advance in the quarterfinals last Saturday. The game featured 11 ties and nine lead changes, with Syracuse holding on to a second-half lead despite the Tigers best efforts to rally. Joey Spallina led the way with an eight-point performance on four goals and four assists.
