With the two longtime conference foes looking for a bounce-back win this weekend, No. 12 Duke hosts ACC rival No. 7 Syracuse at Koskinen Stadium in Durham on Saturday. After losing to arch-rival North Carolina at home last week, the Blue Devils look to rebound with a win over Syracuse this week. Duke is 9-4 overall with an 0-2 conference record and a 6-2 home record this season. Syracuse, on the other hand, fell to top-ranked Cornell last week. The Orange are 9-3 overall with a 2-0 conference record 2-1 road record. Last season, Duke won a shoutout by a final score of 18-13 over Syracuse but the Orange hold a 15-10 advantage in the series.

Most recently, Duke couldn’t hang on to a halftime lead in an 8-7 loss to North Carolina at Koskinen Stadium in Durham last Saturday. The Blue Devils had a small 5-3 advantage at the half, but the Tar Heels used a 4-1 frame in the third quarter to retake the lead. Junior Max Sloat and sophomore Benn Johnston led Duke offensively with two goals each. 

As for Syracuse, the Orange couldn’t keep pace with top-ranked Cornell in a 17-12 loss to the Big Red in Uniondale last week. Syracuse was led by a six-point performance from Owen Hiltz, who finished with four goals and two assists. Michael Leo had two goals and two assists, while Luke Rhoa had a hat trick and an assist in a four-point day. 

No. 12 Duke will now host No. 7 Syracuse at Koskinen Stadium in Durham on Saturday.
