After the Irish suffered their third loss of the season on the road last week, No. 9 Notre Dame squares off against unranked Virginia in South Bend on Saturday. The defending NCAA champs were righting the ship with two consecutive wins over Michigan and Duke last month. However, Notre Dame fell last week to fourth-ranked Syracuse on the road. The Irish are now 5-3 overall with a 3-1 record at home this season. Virginia, on the other hand, has lost two-straight games to drop to 5-6 overall with a 0-2 conference record and a 0-3 road record. Virginia leads the all-time series with an 11-9 record against Notre Dame.

As for Virginia, the Hoos fell in a 18-9 loss to North Carolina at Dorrance Field in Chapel Hill last Saturday. The Cavaliers were led by McCabe Millon who had a four-point performance on two goals and two assists. Will Inderlied also scored a pair of goals for the first time in his career.
