La Salle will head over the Delaware River on Tuesday to take on Monmouth in men’s college soccer action.
On Tuesday night, Hesse Field on The Great Lawn will play host to home side Monmouth and visiting La Salle as the teams square off in a non-conference matchup. The Explorers will look to make it two wins in a row on Tuesday after winning their first game against Mount St. Mary’s on Friday in a narrow 1-0 victory. Against The Mount, the game was scoreless until the 81st minute of play when graduate student Andrew Rosenbaum netted his first goal of the season to give the team a 1-0 lead. Tino Kneis saw 13 shots and made four saves to keep the net clear and earn his second shutout of the year. La Salle is now 1-2-1 overall and will look to improve upon that mark with its final three games before Atlantic 10 play begins in two weeks.

The Hawks come into Tuesday’s home game with an undefeated record of 2-0-2 and have outscored their opponents 9-3 with the most recent game resulting in a 2-2 draw against Stony Brook. Erik Reis opened the scoring for Monmouth with a goal 11 minutes into play after his finishing the rebound from his own shot. The game remained a 1-0 back-and-forth battle until the 68th minute when Reis struck again, intercepting a pass at midfield and getting himself inside the box to put away his second of the night. The Seawolves were able to sneak two by Eryk Dymora who was peppered with 13 shots on the night, but he came up with five saves to make sure his team walked away with a positive result.
This will be the 15th meeting between Monmouth and La Salle with the last match resulting in a 1-1 draw in Philadelphia last season. Tune in to see if Monmouth can pick up a win and keep its unbeaten streak intact.
