Colgate will make the trip to New Jersey on Tuesday to take on Princeton in men’s non-conference soccer action.

On Tuesday night, Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium will host home side Princeton and visiting Colgate as the teams play in a non-conference matchup. The Tigers will look to get back to .500 as the team enters the contest with a record of 1-2. Last week, the team traveled to New York to play St. John’s and picked up its first win in a narrow 2-1 victory. Kevin Kelley opened the scoring in the 19th minute and Daniel Ittycheria followed ten minutes later to make it a 2-0 game. St. John’s were able to get within one with a goal in the 39th, minute, but Khamari Hadaway made three saves in net to help Princeton earn its first win of the year.

The Raiders are currently undefeated in conference play at 1-0 and have fared well overall with a 3-2-1 record. Colgate has played two ranked opponents, falling 1-0 to No. 25 Syracuse in the season opener, but bouncing back to beat No. 13 Virginia in a 1-0 victory in the second match of the year. The team’s last time on the pitch was on Saturday and resulted in a 2-1 victory over Lafayette in its first Patriot League game. The team was trailing 1-0 until the 63rd minute when Blake Pipkin put in the tying goal. Just eight minutes later, Jacob Blackwin netted the game-winner. Both men tallied their first career goals in the win to propel the team to a first place spot in the conference standings.

Tuesday will mark just the sixth all-time meeting between the Tigers and the Raiders, with Princeton holding a 3-2 edge. The last meeting between the two teams was in 2021 in which the Tigers took a 2-0 victory.
