Triton Beauvois and No. 9 Virginia will take the pitch against Lasse Dahl and No. 1 Pittsburgh on Sunday night.

The No. 9-seeded Virginia will head on the road this weekend to take on the No. 1-seeded Pittsburgh in the quarterfinals of the ACC Men’s Soccer Tournament in Pennsylvania on Sunday night. The Panthers finished their regular season with a 12-4 record overall and a 6-2 record against teams in the ACC. They ended the regular season 7-2 at home and 5-2 on the road. They finished the regular season with a 4-1 win over Virginia at Ambrose Urbanic Field before losing to Syracuse 2-0 to end the season.

They didn’t have to play a first-round game in the tournament after securing the No. 1 seed. In their last win against Virginia, they came out scoring early and often taking the 4-0 before the 35-minute mark. Luis Sahmkow scored the first goal followed by Casper Svendby, Lasse Dahl, and Casper Grening. Dahl also had an assist in that win as well.

The No. 9-seeded Hokies ended their season 9-5-3 overall and 3-3-2 against teams from the Atlantic Coastal Conference. They are just 1-1-3 on the road this season and 8-4 at home. They ended their regular season with a 4-2 win in Charlottesville, Virginia, against Mary Washington before heading to this tournament.

They played their first game of the tournament against No. 8-seed NC State and won 2-1. NC State put a goal on the board first and scored the only goal of the first half. Virginia tied the game in the 72nd minute with a goal from Triton Beauvois, assisted by Paul Wiese. David Okorie ended up scoring the game-winning goal for Virginia, which was assisted by Beauvois.
