The Gators scored in every inning but the third to rout the Crimson Tide in Game 2 of this series. Freshman Taylor Shumaker made sure that Alabama would go home early with her second homer of the game. Shumaker hit it in the fifth for a three-run shot and it was essentially a walk-off as the Gators earned the five-inning run-rule victory. Florida had scored five runs in the previous inning to win comfortably. Shumaker was a monster going 3-for-4 and on top of the homers, hit a two-run double and totaled six RBIs on the day. Senior Kendra Falby also went 3-for-4 and tallied three RBIs. Falby is now batting a blazing .484 in SEC play.

Alabama was down in the first inning and could never recover. The Crimson Tide scored all its runs in the fourth inning. That inning was highlighted by a three-run shot by Salen Hawkins. It was the first homer of the season and that brought the Crimson Tide within just one run. This game was much closer than the final score would indicate. Kali Heivilin hit an RBI-single to tie the game at four runs apiece. This rubber match is very attainable for Alabama this afternoon.
