Oklahoma hosts Alabama on Friday afternoon in Game 1 of its Super Regional

The Oklahoma Sooners take on the Alabama Crimson Tide on Friday afternoon in the first game of the best-of-three Super Regional. The Sooners are chasing their fifth straight National Championship, but will have to get through a tough Crimson Tide team. The Sooners earned the two seed for the tournament, but are the highest seed left after Texas A&M was upset in its regional. The Sooners had no trouble going undefeated in their regional. They gave up just three combined runs in three games and won each game by at least eight runs. They beat Boston U in their first game 8-0 before beating Cal two times in a row by scores of 11-2 and 12-1. It was a dominating run, but the competition ramps up this weekend. The winner of the Super Regional will earn a trip to the College World Series and will play either Tennessee or Nebraska in the first game.

The Crimson Tide earned a trip in the Super Regionals by sweeping through their regional last weekend.

They did not lose in three games, but they were tested by Virginia Tech. They had no trouble with Jackson State in the first game, but beat the Hokies by just one run twice.

They erased a two-run deficit in the first game to win 4-3 and then held off a seventh-inning rally to win 3-2 in the second game.

The Crimson Tide now get the tough task of trying to take down the four-time defending champion in the Super Regional this weekend.

Regional restrictions may apply.
