Arkansas and Tennessee will wrap up a three-game SEC college softball series on Monday as the Volunteers look to avoid a sweep.

The Tennessee Volunteers will host the No. 16 Arkansas Razorbacks on Monday afternoon for an SEC series finale at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium. The Lady Vols will look to avoid the sweep after the Razorbacks picked up wins in the first and second games, outscoring the Vols 15-3. On Sunday, Arkansas picked up a 9-0 shutout, holding the Vols to just five hits. Saviya Morgan led the Tennessee offense at the plate, going 2-for-3 while the other three hits came from Kinsey Fiedler, Sophia Nugent and Gabby Leach. Erin Nuwer took the loss in the circle for Tennessee after giving up five earned runs in 3.1 innings of work while striking out three batters. With Sunday’s loss, the Lady Vols dropped to 26-6 overall and 2-3 in conference play for a spot in ninth place in the SEC standings.

Arkansas spread out its hitting and scoring on Sunday as Reagan Johnson, Bri Ellis and Atalyia Rijo each finished the game with two hits and combined for three RBIs. Kailey Wyckoff hit a three-run double to bring home Johnson, Ava Carter and Karlie Davison. Payton Burnham improved to 6-2 on the season, throwing 6.1 innings and striking out five batters from the circle. The win improved Arkansas overall record to 24-6 and its conference record to 4-5, putting them in 12th place in the SEC standings.

Arkansas and Tennessee have now met a total of 65 times. The Lady Vols currently hold a 42-23 lead in the all-time series, but Arkansas has won the last four games.
