The No. 22 college softball team in the nation, Arkansas, will take on the No. 7 ranked team in the country, Tennessee, in the first game on Saturday afternoon of a three-game series at the Sherri Parker Lee Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee. The No. 7-ranked Volunteers are 26-4 overall this season with a 2-1 record in just one series in the Southeastern Conference. They lost their non-conference games to Oregon, UCLA, and Nebraska in single games. Their only conference series to date was at Georgia in Athens, where they won two of three games.

They won the first game 6-1 before losing the middle game 4-3. They came back and won the series with a third-game win 5-2 two weekends ago. Third baseman Taylor Pannell leads the team with 11 home runs this season while batting .471. She has 45 RBIs and only five strikeouts in 87 at-bats in 30 games this season.
The No. 22-ranked Razorbacks are 21-6 overall this season with just a 1-5 record against teams in the Southeastern Conference. They only lost one non-conference game this season to UCLA. They lost the first two games of a three-game series against Ole Miss, avoiding the sweep with a 20-3 win in the third game.
Directly after that, they lost to Oklahoma at home in a three-game sweep. They bounced back from losing five of their last six games with a 6-3 win in a solo game earlier this week. Bri Ellis, Arkansas’s starting first baseman, leads the team with 16 home runs and 47 RBIs in 64 at-bats. She is batting .547 with a 1.391 slugging percentage.
