Auburn and Kentucky continue SEC play on Saturday with game two of their series in college softball action.

The Kentucky Wildcats will host the Auburn Tigers at John Cropp Stadium on Saturday for the final game of their SEC series following a double-header on Friday night. The Tigers took game one in a 2-1 victory before falling in a close 4-3 defeat in game two. Auburn is now 23-15 overall with a conference record of 1-13 for a spot in last place in the SEC standings. In Friday’s loss, the Tigers were led offensively by Nelia Peralta who went 2-for-4 with two RBI while the team’s other run came from the bat of Abbey Smith with an RBI single in the fifth. SJ Geurin took the loss in the circle, dropping to 16-7, after giving up two runs in one inning of work.

The Wildcats come into game three with an overall record of 22-16 and a conference record of 5-8 which has them sitting in 12th place in the SEC standings. After falling to the Tigers in the first game, Kentucky was able to bounce back to secure the win in game two, forcing a rubber match for Saturday. Sarah Haendiges improved to 9-4 on the season with the save in the circle, throwing for 2.2 innings and striking out six batters. Lauryn Borzilleri went 3-for-3 at the plate with three RBI earned from an RBI double in the bottom of the third and a two-run triple in the bottom of the sixth, propelling her team to victory.
