Auburn and Mississippi State will wrap up their first SEC series of the season on Monday night in Starkville.

The No. 21 Mississippi State Bulldogs will look to complete the sweep over the No. 18 Auburn Tigers on Monday night as the teams wrap up their first SEC series of the 2025 season at Nusz Park. The Tigers got off to a strong start this season and came into the series with an overall record of 20-1, but dropped the first two games to Mississippi State in a 5-4 loss on Saturday and a 9-4 loss on Sunday. In Sunday’s game, KK McCrary led the offense, going 1-for-4 at the plate with two RBI after hitting a two-run shot to center field in the fourth. Kyla Stroud accounted for the other two runs with a single in the sixth to bring home Georgia Lessmann and AnnaLea Adams. SJ Geurin dropped to 13-2 on the season for the Tigers, going 1.2 innings in the circle and giving up three earned runs.

With Sunday’s win, the Bulldogs improved to 21-3 on the season and 2-0 in SEC play. The team is currently on a three-game win streak and will look to improve upon that by completing the sweep on Monday. Morgan Stiled led the Bulldogs’ offense in Sunday’s win, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, hitting an RBI double in the second and a two-run homer to left field in the sixth. Sierra Sacco and Lexi Sosa each finished the game with two RBI, all of which came from home runs. Josey Marron was credited with the win in the circle as she went two innings, striking out four batters while only giving up two earned runs.
