Clemson and Auburn will meet Thursday in Clearwater as the teams take the field for the Shriner’s Children’s Clearwater Invitational.

The 2025 college softball season is underway and on Thursday, the Clemson Tigers will take on the Auburn Tigers in the Shriner’s Children’s Clearwater Invitational where the teams will play five games over four days in the Florida sunshine. Clemson comes into the weekend with a record of 3-2 so far after playing in the Paradise Classic last weekend in Boca Raton, Florida to kick off the 2025 season. The team played well, keeping its two losses fairly close (3-2, 6-2) and winning its last two games against Georgia State (10-1) and Missouri State (13-0). The bats were hot against Missouri State and the team finished the game with the third-highest hits in an outing at 17 to earn its first shutout.

Auburn hosted its own tournament last weekend, playing to a 5-0 record on Jane B. Moore Field. The team outscored its five opponents 44-19 over three days and capped the weekend off with a big 11-1 victory over UNC in five innings. Kylie Brockman, Amelia Lech and Rose Roach each finished the game with two hits apiece while Lech and AnnaLea Adams led the team with three RBI each. Chalea Clemmons earned the win in the circle, pitching four innings and only giving up two hits while striking out four batters to earn her second win of the young season.

Clemson and Auburn last met in the NCAA Regional Championship in the 2023 season. After the three-day series, Clemson moved on to Super Regionals after beating Auburn 7-0 in the first game, losing 5-2 in the second and securing the victory with a 5-1 win in the third.
