No. 16 Missouri closes its first day at the Clearwater Invitational with a battle of the Tigers against Clemson.

No. 16 Missouri (4-2 entering Thursday) plays its second game of the day at the Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational on Thursday afternoon when it faces Clemson (3-2). Missouri opened the day against No. 9 Florida State on Field 8 of the Eddie C. Moore Complex in Clearwater, Florida, and remain on Field 8 to take on Clemson. Missouri reached the Super Regionals last season while Clemson, which launched its program in 2020, has already played in two Super Regionals, most recently in 2023.

Missouri played in the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Clearwater last week before visiting UCF on Tuesday and dropping a 6-5 decision in eight innings. Madison Walker was 5-for-20 entering Thursday with two home runs, while Julia Crenshaw and Stefania Abruscato were each 7-for-19. Cierra Harrison entered Thursday 2-0 in three starts in the circle, with a 2.19 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 16 innings.

Clemson played five games last week at the Paradise Classic in Boca Raton, Florida, beating Kansas, Georgia State and Missouri State while dropping games to Ole Miss and Florida Atlantic. Alex Brown is 9-for-18 so far, while Julia Knowler and Macey Cintron have two home runs apiece. Brooke McCubbin has worked a team-high 11.1 innings thus far over three appeaerances and two starts, with a 2.47 ERA and 1.08 WHIP to go with 10 strikeouts.

Larissa Anderson is 221-117 in her seventh season at Mizzou, with a pair of Super Regional appearances. John Rittman was hired in 2017 to launch the Clemson program and since beginning play in 202, he has a 192-66 record with two Super Regional berths.
