On Thursday, Maddie Moore and Clemson will take the field against Reese Atwood and Texas in the first game of the Austin Super Regional.

The No. 12-ranked Clemson will head on the road to Austin, Texas, to take on the No. 6-ranked Texas at Red & Charline McCombs Field in the first game of the NCAA Austin Super Regional on Thursday night. The 47-12 Tigers, also ranked No. 12 in the country, came out of the Clemson Regional with a three-game sweep of the regional teams. That was also after they took down Florida State in the ACC Championship with a 2-1 win. They opened up their regional against USC Upstate and won 10-2 before beating Northwestern 1-0 and ended with Kentucky, 5-1.

Brooke McCubbin has been the best pitcher for Clemson this year, close with Reese Basinger. The senior is 18-5 this year with a 2.49 ERA and 78 strikeouts over 129.1 total innings. Senior Maddie Moore, Clemson’s second baseman, is batting .422 to lead the team. She also has a team-high 16 home runs and 66 RBIs this season.

The Longhorns finished their season with a 46-10 record overall and a 16-8 record against SEC teams. They lost to Texas A&M on the road in Game 13 of the SEC Tournament, 14-2, before heading into the Austin Regional. They opened up their hosted regional with a 10-2 win over Eastern Illinois before beating Michigan massively, 14-2. In the championship game of the regional, they took down UCF in a 9-0 shutout.

Teagan Kavan, a sophomore, has been the best on the mound for Texas. She has a 2.48 ERA and 23 wins in 27 starts. In 34 appearances, she has 200 strikeouts over 161.0 total innings. Catcher Reese Atwood leads the team at the plate, batting .433. She has a team-high 20 home runs and 84 RBIs on 71 hits in 164 at-bats.
