Creighton and UConn will wrap up a three-game Big East series on Saturday after a double header on Friday.

The Creighton Blue Jays will host the UConn Huskies on Saturday to close out the teams’ three-game Big East series at the Creighton Sports Complex. On Friday, the teams took part in a double header in which the Blue Jays earned a 7-6 win in eight innings in the first game before the second game was suspended in the sixth inning due to a power outage. Sydra Seville and Lily West each finished the game with two hits and combined for three RBI while Ella Dalton added two RBI with a two-run single in the seventh inning. Brooklyn Patchen took the win in the first game, improving to 5-6 on the season with one inning of work in which she struck out one batter and gave up zero hits.

The second game was full of excitement and was suspended when the score was an alarming 21-18 in the top of the sixth inning in UConn’s favor. At the time of the game’s suspension, Grace Jenkins and Kaitlyn Breslin each had seven RBI. Jenkins hit a three-run homer in the first inning and also hit three one-run singles. Breslin was on fire and ended the night with four home runs on her four hits of the evening. Sydney Potter carried the Creighton offense with five RBI from two homers and one RBI single up the middle.
