The Gators are sitting in fifth place in the SEC standings with an overall record of 41-11 and a conference record of 12-8. Sunday’s loss broke a four-game win streak for Florida and the team will look to bounce back on Monday to get back on track before heading into its final regular season series against conference-leading Oklahoma this weekend. Katelynn Oxley gave up one earned run to blow the save against the Tigers, dropping her record to 8-5 on the season. Kendra Falby was responsible for the Gators’ only run with an RBI double in the fifth to score Kylie Shaw, but the team ultimately came up short.

Florida and LSU have now met a total of 78 times in their history and the series is tied up at 39 win apiece. Tune in Monday night to see which team can break the all-time series tie with a win in the rubber match in Baton Rouge.
