On Saturday morning, in Gainesville, Florida, Georgia will play the No. 3-seeded Florida in Game 2 of the Gainesville Super Regional at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium in a best-of-three series. The No. 3-seeded Gators took the first game of the series on Friday with a 6-1 win. Keagan Rothrock won her 15th game of the season and is now 15-5 this year. She gave up the only run, completing a full game of 7.0 innings. Despite the one earned run, she only gave up two hits and walked two batters with seven strikeouts.

Reagan Walsh and Ava Brown both hit homers in the win. Walsh went 1-for-4 with three RBIs to pair with her home run, while Brown went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Kendra Falby, who also went 1-for-4 on the night, had the only other RBI for the No. 7-ranked team in the country yesterday.

The Bulldogs dropped the first game and will look to even the series back up at 1-1 and force a Game 3 on Sunday with a win here this morning. Randi Roelling was credited with the loss after giving up six of Florida’s seven earned runs over 4.1 innings with four strikeouts. Rachel Gibson and Destin Howard finished the final 1.2 innings with Gibson giving up the last run and Howard going scoreless over the last inning.

Emma Castorri scored the only run of the game for Georgia on a throwing error by Florida’s catcher. If it wasn’t for the error, the team would have been shut out. Only Castorri and Dallis Goodnight ended with hits in the game as well. Georgia will need to get the bats going if it hopes not to be rolled in two straight games.
