Missouri will welcome Kansas on Wednesday for a non-conference matchup in college softball action.
The Kansas Jayhawks will travel to on Wednesday for a mid-week, non-conference matchup against the Missouri Tigers at Mizzou Softball Stadium. The Jayhawks come into Wednesday’s road game with an overall record of 14-12 and a conference record of 3-3 so far, which puts them in seventh place in the Big 12 standings. The team’s most recent games were played against Utah over the weekend and resulted in a 2-1 series loss. The Utes picked up wins in the first two games, but the Jayhawks battled back to win the finale 5-4 to avoid the sweep. Hailey Cripe and Presley Limbaugh each finished the game with two hits and Cripe brought in one run. Kennedy Diggs was credited with the win after 4.1 innings of work, striking out two batters, while Kaelee Washington earned her first save of the season.

The Tigers have struggled to find their footing this season and are sitting just out of last place in the SEC standings with a conference record of 1-5 and an overall record of 18-15. Over the weekend, the team hosted No. 1 Oklahoma, falling in a 2-1 series loss. The Sooners made quick work of the Tigers in game one with a 8-0 victory in five innings, but the Tigers bounced back to take Game 2 in a 3-1 victory. On Sunday, the series wrapped up with a 5-1 victory for the Sooners. Missouri’s lone run came across after Julia Crenshaw hit a solo shot to left field in the third inning. Marissa McCann dropped to 7-6 on the season after throwing for 5.2 innings and striking out five Sooners.
