The No. 18-ranked college softball team in the country, Alabama, will take its home field again in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, at Rhoads Stadium against Missouri for the second game of this three-game series. The Crimson Tide leads the series 1-0 heading into the second game. Jacelyn Briski picked up her 13th win of the season in the 4-2 win with Catelyn Riley securing her first save. Alabama went up 3-0 in the first inning after Brooke Ellestad hit a three-run double into right field that scored Audrey Vandagriff, Abby Duchscherer, and Alexis Pupillo.

The Tigers picked up their first run on a solo home run from Taylor Ebbs in the second inning. Vandagriff homered in the fifth inning to stretch the lead to 4-1 in favor of Alabama. Julia Crenshaw would score for Missouri on a wild pitch in the seventh inning, but they wouldn’t get any more runs in the game.

Missouri is now 23-27 overall this season after a loss in the first game. The team is also just 4-15 against teams in the Southeastern Conference. The club has now dropped five of its last seven conference games after losing two of three games against Mississippi State and Texas A&M in its last two three-game series.

After a win in the first game, the top-25 ranked Alabama has risen to 33-18 overall this season, despite a 9-10 record against teams in the conference. The team lost two of three games against Florida on the road in its last series last week. It won the first game 7-4 before losing 12-4 and 4-3 in the finals two games.
