Kentucky goes for the series sweep of Missouri on Sunday afternoon in an SEC softball showdown

The Kentucky Wildcats look to win their seventh straight game on Sunday afternoon when they take on the Missouri Tigers. The Wildcats have won the first two games of the series and are looking to finish off the sweep on Sunday. The Wildcats came back from two different early one-run deficits in the first game to win 6-4. They trailed by one heading into the bottom of the second and third, but responded both times to lead 4-2 after three. They would lead the rest of the game on their way to the win. On Sunday they went down again by one in the second, but scored two in the bottom of the inning to take the lead. They added three in the fourth to go up 5-1 and then they held off the Tigers rally to get a 5-4 win. The Tigers are now 16-6 overall and 2-0 in the SEC. The Wildcats will host Virginia Tech on Wednesday before a three-game series at LSU next weekend, but first want to finish off Missouri with a win on Sunday.

The Tigers have now lost three in a row and six of their last nine games to fall to 11-12 overall.

They have had a tough schedule so far and it has kept them from finding any consistency as they have hovered around .500 all season long.

The Tigers will step outside the SEC next weekend as they host the Mizzou Invitational where they will play South Dakota State, Princeton, Michigan and Quinnipiac.
