Nebraska and Northwestern will meet for game two of their Big Ten series on Sunday afternoon in college softball action.

The No. 23 Nebraska Cornhuskers will look to extend their win streak to three games on Sunday as the team takes on the Northwestern Wildcats at Sharon J. Drysdale Field. The Wildcats come into Sunday’s game with an overall record of 20-13-1 and a conference record of 9-2 which has them sitting in third place in the Big Ten standings. Northwestern fell behind early on Saturday in the opener after Lauren Boyd gave up five earned runs in just one inning to fall to 8-3 on the season. Kaylie Avvisato was responsible for Northwestern’s only run after hitting a solo home run to left field in the third, but it wasn’t enough to make up the eight run deficit already in place which resulted in an 11-1 loss.

With Saturday’s win, the Huskers improved to 30-10 overall and 9-3 in conference play which puts the team just behind Northwestern in the Big Ten standings. Jordy Bahl powered the Nebraska offense on Saturday, going 3-for-4 at the plate with five RBI on the day after hitting a two-run double in the second and a three-run homer in the fifth. Not only did Bahl lead the team offensively, she also dominated in the circle, throwing 11 strikeouts in five innings of work while only giving up two hits. Samantha Bland and Hannah Camenzind each brought in two runs for the Huskers, as well, and the team was able to pick up its second win in a row.
