The No. 17 Georgia Bulldogs will welcome the No. 15 Oklahoma State Cowgirls to Turner Softball Stadium on Wednesday as the teams meet for a non-conference game in college softball. The Bulldogs come into the mid-week matchup with an overall record of 23-8 and a conference record of 3-6 for a spot in 11th place in the SEC standings. Over the weekend, the team hosted No. 3 LSU, falling in the first two games, but winning 11-3 in the finale to avoid the sweep. Mua Williams led the Bulldogs offense, going 1-for-4 at the plate and finishing the game with four RBIs after blasting a grand slam in the third inning. Randi Roelling improved to 7-4 on the season after throwing five innings and striking out one batter in the win.

The Cowgirls are off to a strong start this season and bring an overall record of 19-7 and a conference record of 4-3 into Wednesday’s road game. The team’s most recent games were played at home against Baylor and despite dropping the first game of the series 1-0, the Cowgirls bounced back to win the next two securing the series victory. The third game ended up going into extra innings, before Oklahoma State pulled out a 2-1 win in nine innings. Amanda Hasler took the game into her own hands, hitting a walk-off home run to center field in the bottom of the ninth inning. Ruby Meylan was credited with the win after pitching five innings and striking out five batters.
Oklahoma State and Georgia have met a total of five times in their history and the Cowgirls hold a slight 3-2 edge. The last meeting between these two teams took place last season and the game went in the Bulldogs’ favor with a 7-4 victory.
