The No. 20 Ole Miss Rebels will wrap up their weekend road trip on Sunday with the series finale against the No. 9 South Carolina Gamecocks at Beckham Field. The Rebels dropped the first game in the series in a long-winded eight inning 1-0 loss on Friday, but bounce back on Saturday to win game two by a score of 2-1. Jaden Pone led the team offensively, going 2-for-4 at the plate with one RBI while the other run came from the bat of Lexie Brady with her only hit of the game. Brady opened the scoring with an RBI single to center field in the fourth before the Gamecocks tied things up. An RBI single from Pone in the seventh put the Rebels back on top where they remained. The win went to Aliyah Binford in the circle after pitching a complete game in which she struck out four.

The Gamecocks will look to get back on track on Sunday after Saturday’s loss put a stop to their four-game win streak. The team is now 29-8 overall with an SEC record of 5-6 for a spot in 10th place in the conference standings. Sam Gress took the loss in the circle on Saturday, coming in to reliever Jori Heard and giving up one earned run in her 3.1 innings of work. During her time in the circle, she struck out two batters while Heard struck out five. Brooke Blankenship brought the team’s only run home with an RBI single to shortstop in the sixth inning.
