Tiare Jennings and No. 2 Oklahoma will take the field against Tehya Bird and No. 22 Oregon in the Norman Regional.
The NCAA softball tournament will kick off today with a matchup between the No. 22 ranked team in the country, Oregon, and the No. 2 ranked team in the nation, Oklahoma, at the Norman Regional in Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon. Each regional is a double-elimination tournament with a chance to advance to the Super Regionals in the next round of the NCAA Tournament. The loser of this game will play in the loser’s bracket later today for a chance at a rematch. The Sooners finished the season with 50 wins and only six losses. They also finished with 22 wins and five losses against teams from the Big 12 Conference. They won the Big 12 Tournament after taking down Kansas 10-1, BYU 13-2, and Texas 5-1 in three straight days last weekend. They won their first game of the NCAA Tournament yesterday in a 9-0 shutout against Cleveland State. Nicole May picked up win No. 13 on the season yesterday pitching 5.0 scoreless innings allowing three hits with nine strikeouts. Tiare Jennings and Kasidi Pickering both homered in the win. Both ladies had two RBIs as well.

The Ducks ended their season with a 19-19 record overall and a 13-10 record against Pac-12 teams. They lost in their first game of the Pac-12 tournament last weekend 7-4 against Utah after losing a three-game series against Stanford to close out the season. They took on Boston University in the first game of the NCAA Tournament in the Norman Regional.
They also shut out their first opponent 8-0. Elise Sokolsky won her ninth game of the season pitching 5.0 innings allowing just two hits and no earned runs with three strikeouts. Tehya Bird finished the game with one hit, a home run, and three RBIs. Ariel Carlson also had two RBIs in the win.
