ACC softball play continues on Sunday afternoon with a game between Pitt and Florida State in Tallahassee. 

The Pitt Panthers will conclude their three-game ACC series against the No. 10 Florida State Seminoles on Sunday afternoon at Seminole Softball Complex. The Panthers have gotten off to a rocky start in conference play and come into Sunday’s game with an 0-5 ACC record and a 10-14 overall record. On Friday, the Seminoles picked up an 8-3 victory and on Saturday the Seminoles earned a big 13-0 win in just five  innings. Ahmari Braden leads the Panthers at the plate this season with an average of .361 and has a slugging percentage of .492. Kendall Brown is the only undefeated pitcher on Pitt’s roster at 1-0, but Gwen Sparks leads the team in the circle with an ERA of 3.14.

The Seminoles improved to 24-5 overall with Saturday’s win and remain undefeated in ACC play at 2-0. The team also extended its win streak to four games and will look to build on that on Sunday by completing the sweep. Kennedy Harp leads the Seminoles offensively with a batting average of .488 and has a slugging percentage of .964. In Saturday’s win, Harp opened the scoring with a two-run triple. Jaysoni Beachum hit a double in the win while Katie Dack, Amaya Ross and Beachum each delivered home runs. 

Florida State and Pitt have now met 30 times and the Seminoles hold a 26-3 lead in the all-time series. The Panthers will look to pick up a win on Sunday to put a stop to the Seminoles’ win streak and earn their first ACC win.
