The Spartans bring a two-game losing streak into the weekend after dropping their final two games against Nevada in last weekend’s series. The losses bring the team’s overall record to 18-22 and their conference record to 5-9 for a spot in seventh place in the conference standings. The final game of the team’s series against the Wolf Pack resulted in a 2-0 loss which was credited to Mia Reynolds who went 3.1 innings and gave up both earned runs while striking out three batters. Shay McDowell, Ahmiya Noriega and Carly Cummings are the only three Spartans who ended up with hits against Nevada, but with no one plated, the team dropped its second loss in a row.

San Jose State and UNLV have met a total of 27 times in their history and the Spartans hold a 17-10 lead in the all-time series. When the teams met last year in mountain West play, the Rebels earned the series win with victories in the opener and finale.
