Former Pac-12 foes Oregon and Stanford will meet in the Eugene Regional on Saturday as college softball postseason continues.
On Saturday afternoon, Oregon and Stanford will meet at Jane Sanders Stadium for their second game in Eugene Regional play. The Cardinal opened tournament play against Binghampton on Friday, winning handily in a 9-2 victory which was credited to Kylie Chung in the circle who went five innings with seven strikeouts. The offense was led by Emily Jones and Caelan Koch. Jones went 2-for-4 with two RBI while Koch went 4-for-4 with two RBI. The Cardinal produced 10 hits in the win while holding Binghampton to just three hits behind strong pitching and defense which will be needed against the Ducks in Saturday’s game.

The Ducks are also 1-0 in regional play so far after beating Weber State 8-0 in a run-rule victory on Friday afternoon. Oregon got off to a slow start, only posting one run through the first three innings, but a four-run fourth allowed the team to pull away behind the bats of Stefini Ma’ake who hit a two-run double and Dezianna Patmon who hit a two-run homer to right center. Lyndsey Grein pitched a complete game for the Ducks to improve to an impressive 27-2 on the season. Grein gave up three hits, but struck out nine batters.
Having previously been in the Pac-12 Conference together, Oregon and Stanford have a storied history. The teams have met a total of 71 times and the Ducks currently hold a 38-33 lead in the all-time series. Last season, the teams met in their final Pac-12 series and Stanford won the first two games before Oregon picked up a narrow 1-0 victory to avoid the sweep. Tune in Saturday afternoon to see which team is able to stay undefeated in Eugene Regional play.
