No. 5 Texas A&M and No. 10 Oklahoma State face off at the Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational on Saturday

Texas A&M (8-0) has rolled to a pair of wins at the Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational in Clearwater, Florida, but the degree of difficulty will step on on Saturday morning when the fifth-ranked Aggies take on No. 10 Oklahoma State (3-3). The Cowgirls split two games against ranked opponents on Friday and their matchup with Texas A&M will mark their fourth consecutive contest against a ranked foe. Oklahoma State has played in the last five Women’s College World Series while the Aggies were a Super Regional club last season.

Texas A&M stopped UCF 9-1 in a five-inning, run-rule decision on Friday. Leadoff hitter Koko Wooley was 3-for-3 with two doubles and a triple as the team hammered out 12 hits. Mac Barbara has three homers and 16 RBI in eight games while Wooley has scored 14 runs while going 13-for-25. Emiley Kennedy is off to a 4-0 start in the circle, posting a 0.74 ERA and 0.68 WHIP in 19 innings with 19 strikeouts.

The Cowgirls followed up a 6-4 loss to No. 4 UCLA on Friday with a 6-3 victory over No. 24 Kentucky. Rosie Davis belted a two-run homer in the loss before connecting for another two-run shot against Kentucky while Micaela Wark’s two-run home run in the fifth gave them the lead for good. Wark has two homers and five RBI on the season while Megan Delgadillo is 12-for-22. Ruby Meylan is 1-0 with a save in four appearances, putting up a 2.33 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 15 innings with 20 punchouts.

Trisha Ford is 87-36 in her third season coaching the Aggies, who have made 22 straight NCAA tournament appearances. Kenny Gajewski has a 368-152 mark in his 10th season at Oklahoma State.
