With Thursday’s win, which was credited to Reese Basinger in the circle, the Tigers improved to 48-12. Julia Knowler and Marian Collins powered the offense for Clemson, each going 1-for-4 at the plate with two RBI. Collins hit a two-run double in the third and Knowler did the same in the sixth inning to help extend the Tigers’ lead. Alex Brown also had a strong performance, going 3-for-5 at the plate. Basinger was in the circle for four innings in which she gave up six hits and one earned run before Brooke McCubbin came in to snag her first save of the season with three innings of work in which she gave up four hits and two earned runs.

Clemson and Texas have only met twice in their history and the series is all tied up at one game apiece. Texas won the first meeting back in 2022 by a score of 4-0. Tune in on Friday night to see if Clemson can close the series out in Austin or if a rubber match will be necessary on Saturday.
