Texas looks to clinch a spot in the Super Regionals when they play UCF on Sunday afternoon

The Texas Longhorns battle the UCF Knights on Sunday afternoon in the finals of the Austin Regional. The Longhorns are one win away from advancing to the Super Regionals, while the Knights will have to win twice to advance. The Longhorns have had their bats going in their first two games as they beat Eastern Illinois 10-2 and then whipped Michigan 16-4 to move on to the finals. The Longhorns now get a UCF team that had to bounce back from a loss in its first game. The Longhorns are the sixth overall seed in the tournament and would host the Super Regional with a win on Sunday. The winner of the Austin Regional will get either Clemson or Kentucky in the Super Regionals next weekend. With the win on Saturday against the Wolverines, the Longhorns now sit at 48-10 on the season.

The Knights will try to find a way to slow down the powerful Longhorns offense and force an elimination game later on Sunday.

The Knights have earned a spot in the finals the hard way. They lost to Michigan 4-3 in their first game to fall into the elimination bracket.

They then knocked off Eastern Illinois 10-2 to get another shot at the Wolverines. They made good on that chance as they beat them 10-8.

They trailed the Wolverines 8-7 heading into the fifth inning, but they scored three times in the top of the inning to take the lead back.

They would hold the Wolverines scoreless over the next three innings to get the win and earn a shot at the Longhorns.
