Michigan looks to stay hot when it takes on UCF in the first round of the Austin Regional on Friday in college softball.

The Michigan Wolverines take on the UCF Knights on Friday afternoon in the first round of the Austin Regional in college softball. The Wolverines come into the regional fresh off their second straight Big Ten Tournament title. The Wolverines entered the tournament as the eighth seed, but upset top-seeded Oregon in the quarterfinals and second-seeded UCLA in the championship game. The Wolverines had lost all six games against the two West Coast schools, but found some magic in the tournament to knock them both off. They have now won six straight game and come into Friday 38-19 on the season. They finished Big Ten play just 11-11, but still found a way to win their second straight championship.

The Knights are hoping they can steal some of that magic from the Wolverines and advance in the regional with a win.

The Knights come into the regonal looking to bounce back from a loss to No. 10 Arizona in the Big 12 tournament. They led the Wildcats 3-0 in the quarterfinals, but gave up a run in the fourth and three more in the fifth to take the loss.

The Knights now sit at 33-22-1 on the season, but they have won seven of their last nine games.

The Wolverines are a familar face for the Knights, as the two teams played in the regional back in 2022. The Knights would win both games to advance to the Super Regionals.
