On Saturday morning, in Columbia, South Carolina, the No. 9-seeded UCLA will play the No. 8-seeded South Carolina in Game 2 of the Columbia Super Regional at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field in a best-of-three series. The No. 8-seeded Gamecocks came away with the win, 9-2, in the first game of the series on Friday afternoon. Jori Heard started for the No. 14-ranked team in the nation and threw 3.2 innings, giving up the only two runs on four hits with three strikeouts. Sam Gress picked up her 14th win of the season after tossing 3.1 scoreless innings with two strikeouts.

Lexi Winters was the only player to homer for South Carolina in the win, while also racking up three RBIs. Arianna Rodi had two RBIs, as did Abigail Knight, hitting 1-for-3 on the day. Ella Chancey and Brooke Blankenship had the other two runs on solo RBIs. Quincee Lilio had three of the nine runs, while Chancey also had two in the dominant win. They clinch a spot in the WCWS with a win here today.

The No. 9-seeded Bruins, who are also the No. 13-ranked team in the country, will need a win in this game to keep their season and hopes for a WCWS berth alive. Kaitlyn Terry picked up her fifth loss of the season yesterday after conceding five earned runs on five hits in just 1.2 innings with one strikeout.

Addisen Fisher finished the game, going 4.1 innings and giving up four earned runs on six hits with two strikeouts. No one homered for UCLA, and Alexis Ramirez and Sofia Mujica had the only RBIs in the two-run game for the team. Megan Grant and Rylee Slimp were the two ladies to score on those RBIs.
