Super Regional play begins on Friday afternoon with a game between UCLA and South Carolina.

The South Carolina Gamecocks will play at home for the next few days as they welcome the UCLA Bruins to Carolina Softball Stadium to begin Super Regional play. The Bruins were crowned Los Angeles Regional champions last weekend after winning at home. The team beat UC Santa Barbara twice (9-1, 12-1) and San Diego State once (10-0) to emerge victorious. The Bruins are led by USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top 10 Finalist Jordan Woolery, who is hitting an impressive .423 this season. Megan Grant was named a Top 25 Finalist and comes into Friday’s game hitting .377. Woolery has hit 22 home runs this season while Grant has hit 25. The two have combined for 161 RBI and will look to add to that number over the next few games.

She surpassed the former record of 38 wins nearly three weeks ago and has no plans to stop. The pitchers have been impressive, as well, with their combined ERA of 3.04, led by Jori Heard who currently has an ERA of 2.53.
