Oregon and Oklahoma play to stay alive on Sunday, as the teams meet in the WCWS elimination bracket.

On Sunday night, the 16th-seeded Oregon Ducks will take on the second-seed Oklahoma Sooners at Devon Park as the teams try to keep their hopes of a national championship alive. The Ducks dropped their opening game in the Women’s College World Series to the No. 10 UCLA Bruins in a tough 4-2 loss before bouncing back to beat the No. 21 Ole Miss Rebels in a thrilling 6-5 extra-innings victory to stay alive in tournament play. The team spread the scoring around, but were led offensively by Dezianna Patmon, who went 1-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs after hitting a two-run single in the first inning. Lyndsey Grein earned her 30th win of the season after going 9.1 innings in the circle and striking out seven batters.

The Sooners got off to a strong start in WCWS play, beating No. 7 Tennessee in a narrow 4-3 victory that came down to a walk-off, but the team dropped its next game to No. 6 Texas on Friday in a 4-2 defeat. Kasidi Pickering and Abigale Dayton each got a run home for the Sooners, but the team came up short against the Longhorns. Sam Landry took the loss in the circle for the Sooners, going six innings and striking out two batters. The Sooners will need to figure out how to bring their runners home on Sunday if they plan to keep their hopes of a national title alive. The team left five runners stranded in its loss to the Longhorns.

Oklahoma and Oregon have met a total of 18 times and the Sooners hold a 12-6 lead in the all-time series. The teams last met during the 2024 season and the Sooners won both games, outscoring the Ducks 9-5.
