16th-seeded Oregon takes on unseeded Ole Miss on Friday night as the 2025 Women’s College World Series continues.

In the second round of the College Softball World Series, the 16th-seeded Oregon Ducks and the unseeded Ole Miss Rebels look to keep their championship dreams alive with a win. Both teams lost in the opening round and now battle to continue their run to the championship in the double elimination format. The Rebels will look to pull off the upset on Friday night after dropping their opener against Texas Tech on Thursday in a 1-0 heartbreaker. Aliyah Binford took the loss in the circle, pitching a complete game and striking out one batter. The Red Raiders’ lone run was unearned, scoring on a throwing error in the fourth inning.

The Ducks played a strong game against the Bruins, but ultimately lost 4-2 to get sent down to the elimination bracket. Kedre Luschar opened the scoring in the third inning with an RBI single to bring home Kaylynn Jones. The Bruins took the lead in the fourth with a two-run homer to left field off of a Lyndsey Grein pitch. In the top of the seventh, the Ducks tied the game back up with strong base running from Paige Sinicki after she came home on a throwing error. Just as it was looking like the game would go into extra innings, Jessica Clements hit a two-run walk off homer to end the game. Now, the Ducks will play to simply stay alive on Friday night.

Oregon and Ole Miss have only met four times in their history and the Ducks hold a 3-1 lead in the all-time series. The last meeting between the teams took place in 2023 and the game went in Oregon’s favor with a 9-3 victory. Tune in Friday night to see which team’s season ends with a loss in the elimination bracket.
