UCLA and Texas Tech look to remain in the winner’s bracket with a victory in Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon.

The Women’s College World Series continues at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Saturday as the 12th-seeded Texas Tech Red Raiders take on the ninth-seeded UCLA Bruins. Both teams opened up tournament play with a win on Thursday and remain in the winner’s bracket. The Red Raiders pulled off a narrow 1-0 win against the Ole Miss Rebels thanks to an Alana Johnson RBI double in the fourth inning to bring home Lauren Allred. Initially, Allred advanced to third on the hit, but a throwing error by the Rebels allowed her to come home. Nijaree Canady continues to impress in the circle and Thursday’s game was no different as she pitched a complete game and struck out an impressive 10 batters to earn the shutout and her 31st win of the 2025 season.

The Bruins took on former Pac-12 foe Oregon in their first WCWS game and picked up a 4-2 victory. The game was scoreless until the third when Oregon brought in the first run to take a 1-0 lead. Alexis Ramirez flipped the script in the bottom of the fourth, however, hitting a two-run shot to left field to give the Bruins a 2-1 lead. In the top of the seventh, the Ducks tied the game back up, but Jessica Clements walked up to the plate and smashed a two-run walk off to left center to give the Bruins the win. Kaitlyn Terry pitched a complete game for UCLA, striking out six batters and only giving up four hits during her time in the circle.

UCLA and Texas Tech have met a total of five times in their history and the Bruins are undefeated against the Red Raiders. The last meeting took place in 2022 and UCLA picked up a 2-1 victory. The winner of Saturday’s game will play again on Monday while the loser will take on Oregon on Sunday in an elimination game.
