Regular season play will come to a close on Sunday for Oregon and Stanford with the series finale in California.
A top 25 matchup will take place on Sunday evening as No. 7 Stanford hosts No. 21 Oregon in the teams’ Pac-12 series finale in California. The Ducks are currently in fourth place in the Pac-12 standings with a conference record of 12-10 and an overall record of 27-18. On Sunday, Oregon will look to bounce back from losses in the first two games to avoid the sweep after yesterday’s 3-1 loss. Ariel Carlson opened the scoring in the game with a solo home run in the first inning, but the Cardinal countered with three unanswered runs to hand the Ducks another loss which was credited to Elise Sokolsky after two innings of pitching in which she walked five batters.

The Cardinal has now won four games in a row and will look to cap the regular season with their fifth on Sunday. The team is currently 17-6 in Pac-12 play and 42-11 overall for a spot in second place in the standings, trailing UCLA by just one game. Yesterday’s win was powered by a two-run single from the bat of Taryn Kern in the second to take a 2-1 lead and Caelan Koch who brought in the Cardinal’s final run with a solo home run in the sixth inning. Regan Krause earned another win in the circle to improve to 20-4 on the season with 2.2 innings of pitching in which she walked one batter and struck out another while giving up zero hits in the circle.
Tune in Sunday afternoon as these two teams battle for a win in their final regular season play before they start Pac-12 tournament play later this week.
