On Sunday afternoon, regular season play will come to a close for Oregon State and Cal as the teams meet at Levine-Fricke Field. The Beavers bring an overall record of 20-28 and a conference record of 8-15 into Sunday’s series finale which puts them in eighth place in the Pac-12 standings. The Golden Bears handed the Beavers their third straight loss yesterday in a 3-1 defeat. Eliana Gottlieb accounted for the team’s only run of the game with a solo shot in the fourth inning to tie the game up at one run each. The Cal pitching staff held Oregon State to just two hits in the loss which was credited to Logan Hulon who pitched a complete game and struck out four batters.

With yesterday’s victory, the Golden Bears extended their win streak to four games and improved to 9-12 in conference play and 36-15 overall, putting them in seventh place in the Pac-12 standings. All three of Cal’s runs came from home runs on Saturday as Elon Butler opened the scoring with a solo home run to left center in the second inning and Lagi Quiroga blasted a two-run shot to left center in the fifth to secure the victory. The win went to Randi Roelling in the circle after she gave up just two hits and struck out four batters in 6.2 innings of work.
